Effective and Affordable
Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost line doesn’t pretend to revolutionize skincare. It just aims to hydrate all types of skin as efficiently as possible, and in that respect, it works well.
While the products don’t feel like anything special, and in fact you may find yourself missing your regular skincare products when you’re applying them, the results are hard to argue with. The Hydro Boost line will hydrate your skin and, unless you have extremely dry skin, it will keep it hydrated for most of the day.
Since the product line has expanded to include 25 different products, you’re bound to find something that fits your needs, which is always a plus.
Special mention goes to the Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Water Gel, which is the most powerful product in the line.
The Hydro Boost Water Gel is packed with hyaluronic acid, which makes it lightweight, oil-free and powerful enough to deliver results even with very little product.
While these characteristics do make the Hydro Boost Water Gel compatible with most skin types, it doesn’t work for everyone and clinically dry skin, as well as combination skin types, may not get the promised results from this product.
Price Tag:
Neutrogena is known or having affordable and effective products and that applies to this line. Products go from $3 to $20.
Packaging / Design:
Overall the packaging is satisfactory and the design is very pretty. However, the micellar water could use a pump to prevent waste, and the gel will require you to dip your fingers in it, risking contamination.
Texture:
Depends on the product. The cleansers don’t foam and the gel can be a bit sticky at first, but they both work well.
Scent:
Pleasant and subtle enough to be easily ignored.
Nourishment Level:
Unless you have particularly tricky skin, you should have no problem enjoying the hydrating benefits the Hydro Boost is known for.
Overall Experience:
Since the line is affordable and compatible with most skins, you should try at least one of its products. Try the Hydro Boost Hydration Set if you don’t know where to start.
Bottom Line
The Hydro Boost line works wonders in almost all kinds of skin by hydrating quickly and efficiently. However, that’s all it does, so manage your expectations.
