We review some of our favorite products, from the original 8 Hour Protectant Cream (which began as Elizabeth Arden’s statement product,) right through to exciting new revolutions in skincare, such as the Ceramide Capsules.
The Original 8 Hour Skin Protectant Cream
The Original 8 Hour Skin Protectant is one of the top products when it comes to hydrating the skin smoothly and effectively- with added SPF! We love the protectant cream’s versatility: It’s an ideal nail and hand cream because it’s great around cuticles and soothes dry knuckles in winter.
Also, when applied to the face it is soft and adds a touch of gloss to the eyebrows and cheeks- a bonus when it comes to highlighting the face without adding any additional products. (this can be a huge saving, as it can be an entire treatment on its own)
The smell of the Original Cream is a love or hate: keeping true to its originality, the product can smell a little pharmaceutical and medicinal. However, to others, that familiar old smell keeps the product nostalgic and true to its formation.
This said, we’d like to recommend the ‘Fragrance-Free’ version, which we feel provides buyers a more contemporary take on a legendary product- and appeals to a wider range of buyers.
Ceramide Capsules
Also unique to the brand are the Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules: an innovative and iconic product that delivers concentrated ceramides for an intensive anti-aging treatment.
Described as a ‘serum,’ these capsules work because of the intense number of ceramides and botanicals condensed into each capsule. The ceramides help to form the skin’s barrier and retain moisture.
Therefore, this is a revolutionary product to try if you’re after anti-aging benefits! Each pack contains 30, 60 or 90 capsules, which work by twisting the topper individual capsule, and then smoothing the contents into your skin.
Whilst some feel the Advanced Capsules give an unwanted oily sensation (in comparison to the original Capsules,) if your skin is particularly dry or is showing signs of maturity, then we think giving these capsules a go is a must.
Elizabeth Arden Toner
A favorite toner, again in the Ceramide range, is the Ceramide 3 Purifying formula. This product gives a really refreshing feel and is soft and cooling against the skin.
What’s unique about this toner is that it has two actions: Phase 1 cleanses and purifies, whilst Phase 2 soothes and calms.
The Toner is intended to be noticeably dual-action and we like that it uses botanicals to give skin a more natural and refreshing experience!
Visible Difference Eye Cream
Another of the brand’s popular lines is ‘Visible Difference,’ which aims to more noticeably improve the skin’s aesthetic.
And when it comes to eye creams, many skincare lovers seem to gravitate towards Elizabeth Arden’s Visible Difference Eye Cream.
With a soft and delicate texture on the skin, this feels gentle and light in comparison to some eye creams that can make the area feel tight.
What’s also quite delightful about this product is how well it moisturizes and it sits well under makeup: two things often desired with an eye cream.
Elizabeth Arden Superstart Skin Renewal Booster 30ml
We all love cosmetics to boost the skin, and Elizabeth Arden’s Superstart Renewal Booster has a lovely texture and scent.
If you’re after something you can apply quickly, the pump-action dispenser makes this easy to use- and the Superstart Renewal Booster also has a gel-like consistency that absorbs into the skin smoothly and efficiently.
With a fresh, light scent, this product gives the skin a welcome ‘wake up’ when used twice daily.
However, whilst the packaging is classy and stylish- as we’d expect from Elizabeth Arden skincare- the pump is sealed, making it difficult to know how much product you have left before you run out.
For the price, this is a pleasant product which does feel very refreshing but is perhaps more of a ‘luxury buy’ (some of the other Arden serums have similar outcomes.)
Elizabeth Arden Serum
Elizabeth Arden’s products are often synonymous with a more mature generation of user, and therefore the company excels in the market with a vast range of anti-aging products and serums.
The Prevage line stands out for its award-winning products, with the Prevage Anti-Aging Daily Serum being one of these! When it comes to Elizabeth Arden serums, this serum is impressive and unique for its powerful ingredients list to aid the appearance of aging.
Fortified with Idebenone, a very powerful antioxidant, the serum works by targeting areas of the skin with a time-release technology.
When applied, the product provides the ‘wow factor,’ as it does seem to improve the appearance of deep lines and smooths creases: it’s the perfect product to try if you’re after an anti-aging product that (should) bring results, and the serum itself is very soft and gentle.
The only ‘sting’ to this product is its price: it’s a high-end product and therefore the cost reflects the impactful ingredients within the formula.
Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lift and Firm Night Cream 50ml
Elizabeth Arden skincare produces a generous selection of night creams: Eight Hour Night Cream; Visible Difference Night Cream; Prevage Anti-Aging Overnight Cream, and many others.
But the one we want to draw attention to is the Ceramide Lift and Firm Night Cream, for its popularity with more mature skincare buyers.
This product contains new cellular plumping technology and an advanced ingredient called ‘aqualance’ – both part of the formula to help with the skin’s appearance over-night.
In addition to this, the ingredients include vitamins C and E, so this Elizabeth Arden Night Cream functions powerfully, yet feels gentle! It’s nourishing and noticeably impacts skin: it’s a skincare winner in our eyes!
Overall, we can’t help but feel confident when it comes to Elizabeth Arden products. Even with an overwhelming selection of products ever-growing in the Arden legacy, there are some firm skincare favorites that provide excellent quality- and there are many great buys for anti-aging.
